Course Overview:
This is a one year course where students will be learning beginning Spanish with an emphasis on communication and culture. All four literacy skills will receive attention: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The five areas of content standards are Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities. Students at this level are expected to communicate regularly in Spanish with the teacher and classmates. English may be used for talking about the language and doing discussions about culture, but the primary objective is to increasingly communicate in Spanish.
