Pythons Athletic Program Overview:

We compete in the highly competitive Public School Athletic League (PSAL) in New York City. As a campus program, our ten teams are comprised of coaches and student-athletes from Community School for Social Justice and Health Opportunities HS.

Our boys & girls basketball teams practice and host games at the world famous Gauchos Gym, just steps from our school building.

Our baseball and softball teams practice and host games in beautiful Macombs Dam Park, just a ten-minute walk from our school building and the site of the original Yankee Stadium.

Our Girls Indoor/Outdoor Track and Cross Country team compete in Van Courtland Park, The Armory in Washington Heights, as well as various schools and tracks around New York City.

Our boy's soccer, co-ed stunt, and girls volleyball teams all compete in schools and parks throughout the five boroughs, although primarily in the Bronx.

Achievements:

Our girls softball, boys baseball, basketball, & soccer teams have all reached the playoffs in recent years. Boys varsity soccer made it to the city semifinals in 2017.

Two of our student-athletes, Aneika Valentin (2016) & Naziru Abdala (2018) have been honored at Yankee Stadium with the prestigious PSAL MVP Scholar-Athlete award given to just 55 recipients from the five boroughs each year.

Our boys basketball coach, Stefan Snow, was honored at Yankee Stadium in 2018 as a recipient of the Double-Goal Coach Award from the Positive Coaching Alliance, a well respected national non-profit organization.

Former student-athlete, Ebirama Dampha, was selected as a PSAL all-star and represented our school program in Spain during the summer 2016.
